Born in 1969 in Sarıkamış town of Kars.
Graduated from Erzurum Atatürk University Kars Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1991.
Started working as a research assistant in Atatürk UniversityKars Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1992 in theDepartment of Obstetrics and Reproductive Diseases, Reproduction and Artificial Insemination.
Completed his doctorate in 1996 in Istanbul University Health Sciences Institute Department of Reproduction and ArtificialInsemination.
Assigned to Assistant Professor in 1997.
Participated in a biotechnology course in Japan betweenMarch and September in 1998 granted by JICA. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Masashi Miyake at the Department of Animal Reproductive Sciences and Biotechnology at Kobe University, he developed his knowledge and experience on reproductive biotechnology by working on “Obtaining embryos through parthenogenetic activity of mammalian oocytes, and participated in embryo transfer” studies.
He served on the editorial board of Kafkas University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Journal, which is among the few international journals in the field of veterinary medicine in our country, and made the first studies and made important contributions to the journal being included in the SCI-Expanded category (1998-2000). During the same years, he was a member of the board of directors of Kafkas University Institute of Health Sciences.
He served as the Head of the Department of Kafkas University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine between 2000-2015. During this period, he also served as the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for 1 year.
He was assigned to Associate Professor in 2003 and a Professor in 2008.
Between 2005-2007, he initiated “IVF and embryo productionin sheep” studies with projects supported by DPT and TUBITAK.
In 2008, he had short-term professional trips to various bull breeding centers and artificial insemination stations in Vienna and theNetherlands (Utrecht University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine) and conducted scientific examinations andobservations.
During his three-term presidency of the Kars-Ardahan-Iğdır Regional Chamber of Veterinarians between 2006-2012, he carried out extensive breeder awareness training programs within the scope of an event called “A Thousand Seminars in a Thousand Villages” in the Northeastern Anatolia Region, and prepared and presented a weekly program called “Are We Conscious in Animal Husbandry?” on a local television channel. He also contributed to the studies carried out to reduce Brucella disease in the region. He organized various certificate courses under the auspices of the Regional Chamber of Veterinarians.
He was the chairman of the organizing committee of the 7th National Reproduction and Artificial Insemination Science Congress held in Kars in July 2013.
He worked as an executive for about 1 month in the project titled “Organization of Breeding and Selection in Sheep Breeding” at the Ganja-Göygöl Livestock Scientific Research Institute in Azerbaijan between 2019-2020.
In 2021, he visited Italy and Poland and made practical applications regarding “Embryo transfer in cattle without importing breeding stock, establishment of nucleus breedingstock and frozen sperm production in beef cattle”. He attended the BCSC (Beef Cattle Short Course) course at the University of Texas (TA&MU) twice (2021 and 2024) and made practical observations regarding oocyte collection (OPU), in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo production in beef cattle.
He was the Editor of Cheese Life Magazine, Turkey's first andonly cheese magazine, which started its publication life in 2015, until 2021. During this period, he worked in many cities with cheese potential and edited special issues published for several cheese cities, contributing to the discovery of the cheese richness of these cities.
In October 2019, he was invited to the 10th YÖREX Fair organized by the Antalya Chamber of Commerce. He introduced Turkey's geographically indicated cheeses and gave cheese talks and interviews to the participants. At the same fair, he gave a speech on the role of cheese in the development of Ardahan as a guest of Ardahan SERKA institution.
In 2018, upon the invitation of Turkish Airlines, he introduced Turkish cheeses to travel agencies and social media influencers in the southern city of Guanzou, China, and gave a conference.
In 2021, he founded the first Veterinary Embryo Technology Association (VEMTED, https://www.vemted.org/) in Turkey and developed a partnership with the International Embryo Technology Association (IETS), organized various webinars and “Embryo Transfer Courses in Cattle” through the association. Between 2021 and 2024, he conductedi biotechnological studies to create the gene bank of the local breed called Zavot, which is endangered and has adapted to Kars-Ardahan and provides the flavor of the famous Kars dairy products, kashar and gruyere cheeses in the past.
In 2016, he made an editorship of a special issue on goose breeding in Türkiye Klinikleri Journal
Between 2021-2024, for the first time in Turkey, it carried out an international project by bringing genetically selected frozen embryos of a famous beef breed (Beefmaster) that is in the top 10 in the world and ranks second in terms of feed utilizationability, without any live breeding and genetic genetic resources in our country, from the United States of America(Texas) and receiving technical support from the University of Texas. At the end of the project, it delivered the seed herd it obtained to the Ministry within the framework of a protocol signed between the Kafkas University Rectorate and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and demonstrated to the public with widespread news that live breeding stocks can be produced much cheaper (half the cost) and similar projects can be carried out without importing live breeding stock. The Ministers of Agriculture and Forestry of the period (Prof. Dr. Vahit KİRİŞÇİ and Dr. İbrahim YUMAKLI) personally attended the introduction and result evaluation meetings of the project and expressed their support and appreciation. The project has attracted attention and appreciation from the senior executives of the Higher Education Institution and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. A significant genetic contribution is expected from the breeding stocks, which are currently expected to be distributed to farms by obtaining sperm and embryos.
In May 2022, he was among the leading scientists in the realization of the first embryo transfer study and workshop after independence in Azerbaijan at the 16th Azerbaijan International Agricultural Fair organized by Caspian Agro at the Baku Agrocenter within the scope of the “15th Yubiley International Public City Teserrufatı Exhibition” activitieswithin the Azerbaijan Urban Teserrufatı Nazirliği Agrar Xidmetler Agenteliyi.
He has 91 works, articles and works, 25 of which are within the scope of SCI/SCI expanded. He took part in 8 of the 10 national projects as a consultant or researcher, and served as an executive in two projects, one of which was supported by TUBITAK.
In addition to his ongoing/completed projects and published works on reproductive biotechnologies such as freezing sperm, solution approaches for increasing fertility in cows, in vitro fertilization (in vitro fertilization) and embryo transfer, he has numerous scientific research articles related to his field of science, chapter authorship in three books, one internationalbook he edited in his field of science, and three books published on different subjects, one of which is on cheese.
He is a columnist in various magazines and newspapers. He has been invited to many conferences and festivals on animal husbandry and regional development as a speaker, panelist and session chairman.
In October 2024, he lectured at the Faculty of VeterinaryMedicine of Semey University in Kazakhstan for 1 month.
He is currently working on the establishment of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Lenkeran University in Azerbaijan and also lectures.
He is a full member of the Reproduction and Artificial Insemination Science Association, the Turkish Veterinary Gynecology Association, the Kars-Ardahan-Iğdır Chamber of Vets and the Kars Kafkas University Development Foundation.
He currently works as a faculty member at Kafkas Universityand is the President of the Veterinary Embryo Technology Association.
He has supervised one master's thesis so far and is currentlyi supervising two doctoral theses.
He speaks English well and is married with two childern
